What is Wiki Leap?

Wiki Leap is your gateway to an endless stream of knowledge. With just a click, you can leap into a random Wikipedia article, in your preferred language, and start learning about something new and unexpected. Whether you’re curious, bored, or just want to expand your horizons, Wiki Leap makes exploration fun and effortless.

The app is inspired by the idea of serendipitous discovery—sometimes the best learning happens when you stumble upon something you never would have searched for! Wiki Leap is built for speed, simplicity, and a delightful user experience.

Features

  • Random Article Discovery: Instantly load a random Wikipedia article with a single click.
  • Multi-language Support: Choose from English, Arabic, or German and explore articles in your language of choice.
  • Modern UI: Built with Nuxt 3 and Vuetify for a fast, responsive, and visually appealing interface.
  • Share & Save: Share interesting articles with friends or revisit them later.
  • Score System: Track how many articles you’ve explored—your score increases every 5 articles and resets daily.
  • Mobile Friendly: Enjoy Wiki Leap on desktop or mobile devices.

How It Works

Wiki Leap uses the Wikipedia API to fetch random articles in your selected language. The app displays the article’s title, summary, and image (if available), and you can open the full article on Wikipedia for deeper reading. The interface is designed to be distraction-free, letting you focus on discovery.

Why I Built Wiki Leap

I’ve always loved the random article feature on Wikipedia, but wanted a smoother, more beautiful experience—one that works well on any device and makes it easy to share what you find. Wiki Leap is my take on making knowledge exploration more fun and accessible for everyone.

The project is inspired by WikiTok, but reimagined with Nuxt 3 for a seamless, modern experience.
