محاولة لتصحيح إملاء اللغة العربية عن طريق توفير تصحيح للكلمات التي أصبحت تكتب بطريقة غير صحيحة بإستمرار.
انا شخصيا لا ادعي معرفتي الكاملة بقواعد الإملاء الصحيحة وإتعلمت حاجات كتير من أول ما بدأت اركز في محاولتي الأولي مع بوت تويتر.

المشكلة

انتشار طريقة كتابة مليئة بالاخطاء الاملائية سواء عن غير قصد او عن عدم معرفة..كما اصبح توضيح تلك الاخطاء يقابل في الأغلب بصد وهجوم. حاولت بطريقة بسيطة عن طريق بوت تويتر اني انشر ولو حاجة بسطية من الأخطاء اللي بتقابلني وبعدها قررت ان يكون في طريقة يقدر اي حد يشارك بالكلمات اللي بيشوفها ويكون في مرجع نقدر نحاول نصلح ما يمكن اصلاحه علي الأقل عن طريق توفير مرجع او قاعدة بيانات يمكن إستخدامها في دراسة المشكلة او الحاقها في مشاريع اخرى مثل بوت تويتر.

توضيح

• اللغة العربية لغة تستحق كل الإحترام لذلك وجب المحافظة عليها.
• لكل بلد، بل ولكل منطقة لهجة مختلفة وليس الهدف التقليل من أي لهجة.
• التحدث والنطق لا علاقة لهم بطريقة الكتابة والإملاء الصحيح.
• المشكلة الإملائية بالنسبة لي ليس لها علاقة باللغة العامية او الفصحي...بل طريقة الكتابة الخاطئة حتي للكلمات العامية.

ازاي تساعد؟

• لو عارف كلمة بتتكتب بطريقة غير صحيحة وتعرف تستخدم Github تقدر تعمل pull request بكل بساطة.
• لو معندكش خبرة في Github تقدر تقول الكلمة و الصح بتاعها عن طريق الـissues.

What is DictArabic?

DictArabic is a community-driven project aimed at correcting the widespread issue of incorrect Arabic spelling. The goal is to provide a simple, accessible reference for the most common misspelled words, helping anyone interested in writing correct Arabic—whether in formal or informal contexts.

The project started as a Twitter bot that shared frequent spelling mistakes and their corrections. Over time, it evolved into a collaborative database where anyone can contribute, discuss, and help preserve the beauty of the Arabic language. While running the bot, I noticed that some people felt uncomfortable when corrections were pointed out directly, sometimes seeing it as criticism. That’s why I decided to turn DictArabic into a friendly reference resource, making it easier for everyone to learn and improve at their own pace.

However, I still feel that by using social media to reach as many people as possible—where they spend most of their time—and by pointing out commonly used spelling mistakes, we can at least help preserve the language a little bit further.

Unfortunately, when Twitter became X, it also made a lot of changes to the API and the project was halted as a Twitter bot.

Why does DictArabic exist?

Incorrect spelling has become widespread, often due to lack of awareness or simply habit. Attempts to point out these mistakes are sometimes met with resistance, but DictArabic aims to address the issue constructively by providing a reference and encouraging community participation.

• Arabic is a language worthy of respect and preservation.
• Every region has its own dialect, but the goal is not to diminish any dialect.
• Pronunciation and speaking style are separate from correct spelling.
• The focus is on correcting writing, not on judging dialects or spoken language.

How can you help?

• If you know a commonly misspelled word, you can contribute directly via GitHub pull requests.
• If you’re not familiar with GitHub, you can suggest corrections via the project’s issues page.
