Scrollodoro
A relaxing pomodoro timer that helps you focus and relax with a random side-scrolling pixel style environment.
Scrollodoro: The Pomodoro Timer with a Creative Twist
I will be honest, i just like to watch it scroll and i dont adhere to the pomodoro technique, but if it works for you, then give it a try! the early version was done in html and plain javascript, but now its being reworked in nuxt and i am working on more settings. Right now it supports a 25 minute timer with a 5 minute break, a reverse timer so 25 minutes of break and 5 minutes of work, and option for random timer.
the environment is being reqorked as well, and animations ar ebeing optimized so that the sudden jumps or so should be gone soon.
The idea? As you work, you’re treated to a side-scrolling pixel landscape, inspired by classic video games and built from randomly layered scenes. Every session feels a bit different, keeping things visually interesting and—hopefully—a little more fun. The idea with the layers is to create dynamic scenes. the scenes might not make sense, but hey, it makes for an interesting visual experience! If you caught some interesting looking scene, share it with me.
This project was heavily inspired by DevDuck and his vlogs on game development. If you’re into programming or game design, I highly recommend checking out his channel! and of course, there is no comparision, but i just wanted to try something different and fun.
Want to contribute your art or ideas? I’d love to hear from you—Scrollodoro is still a work in progress, and community input is always welcome.
What is Scrollodoro?
Scrollodoro is a web-based Pomodoro timer that blends time management with an engaging, animated user experience. Unlike traditional timers that simply count down, Scrollodoro features a side-scrolling interface reminiscent of classic video games. As you work through your 25-minute focus sessions, the timer generates a dynamic, animated scene that scrolls horizontally. This unique design aims to make your work sessions feel less like a countdown and more like an interactive experience.
The timer follows the classic Pomodoro rhythm: 25 minutes of focused work, then a 5-minute break. After four such sessions, a longer break is suggested. Scrollodoro’s appeal lies in its ability to keep the user visually stimulated, making the transition between work and breaks more fluid and enjoyable.

Scroll + Pomodoro
My goal was to create a tool that’s not just useful, but also enjoyable. The simple interface means you can jump right in, and the scrolling animation adds a bit of surprise and delight—even if it’s not perfect yet (I’m still improving it!).
Whether you’re studying, coding, or just want a peaceful timer, Scrollodoro aims to make your focus sessions a little more fun and a lot less monotonous.
